By far one of the coolest parts of taking photos is all of the different people I get to meet. From families to seniors, I have enjoyed getting to know them all! However, every one in a while, I get to reconnect with old friends when they reach out for photos and that may be just as special to me.

Tehya and I used to play high school volleyball together and it had been years since we had seen each other. I got an email from her asking if I could take photos of their family for their son's first birthday and I was so happy to catch up with her! We had planned to meet at one of my favorite spots near Ft Collins but as Colorado weather would have it, it was supposed to rain all night. We later decided to go for it since the sun came out and it looked like it was going to be a beautiful night after all! Props to Tehya for being ready to rock at any moment, especially with a little one. Right when we were headed to photos, a huge storm came in, which closed our planned location so we had to shift gears fast! We ended up on the other side of town at a local lake and you never would have know the weather was passing through just a few miles away! It was beautiful!

Little Jay was so great taking photos and we got to snap a few with his cowboy hat as they prepared for his "First Rodeo" birthday theme the following week. I'm not sure there is anything cuter than that!
